As has become a modern tradition for one of Germany’s oldest clubs, 1. FC Nürnberg today revealed a new away kit that combines contemporary styling with historical touches.

Since the foundation of 1. FC Nürnberg over a century ago, a set of rules have steered the Bavarian heavyweights through ups and downs of the domestic game with style, grace and impeccable professionalism.

One such entry into the FCN rulebook states that each away kit must be white from shirts to socks, and can only otherwise feature understated touches of the Bavarian side’s red and black home colours.

Driven By Tradition

This season, ‘Der Club’ are looking to make an instant impact in 2. Bundesliga and return to the top flight, and will do so in new Umbro kits designed with an emphasis on stylish minimalism.

Set against the traditional brilliant white base, the away shirt features a dual-striped chest band in black and burgundy, with black detailing on each sleeve, and a stylised v-cut neckline.

True to form, the jersey is finished with the immortal words Der Club printed onto the rear neck; a phrase that is shorthand for the former glories that FCN is built on. Completing the kit are white shorts and socks complete with complimentary black and burgundy panelling.

The shorts feature internal drawcords and an elasticated waistband, while the socks are designed with a cotton footbed and ‘cool-zone’ technology on the instep.

The new kit is available on the club’s retail from June 20th, 2019. The official on-sale date at umbro.de and in select retail locations is July 3rd.
