HOTEL FOOTBALL SHOULD BE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST

HOTEL FOOTBALL SHOULD BE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST

Football fans love a bucket list: stadiums they want to visit, players they want to see, fierce derbies they want to experience.

But there’s something else that you might want to add to the mix – Manchester’s Hotel Football.

We were in town recently for the United v Brentford Premier League fixture, so we got in touch with the team at Hotel Football, located slap-bang opposite Old Trafford, who kindly offered us a stay.

It’s an understatement to say we were not disappointed. The venue is a unique, bustling haven for football fans that you won't want to miss.

Once we checked in (the staff are lovely by the way), we took our bags up to the eighth floor where we found our Stadium View room. As you can probably work out from the name, the room overlooks the Theatre of Dreams, offering sensational views of one of football’s most famous cathedrals.

There is no expense spared, with the room boasting bespoke Class of ’92 toiletries, a 40-inch Samsung smart TV with Sky Sports and BT Sports, fast wi-fi and a complimentary fridge packed full of retro goodies. The luxurious bed linen and rain shower complete the room’s comfort and aesthetic.

This is one of seven room types available at the hotel. There are also Squad Rooms (perfect for families), which can sleep up to four guests, with a double bed and pull-out sofa bed for two children. And of course – yes, you guessed it - the Class of ‘92 rooms… a shrine to those famous United graduates. It is the perfect stop-over for MUFC fanatics.

At Cafe Football, (situated on the ground floor) you can expect locally-sourced ingredients and classic dishes. It’s perfect for the fan that wants good grub, pre-match beers and the option to take in live sport. It boasts award-winning pizzas and a burger we can personally vouch for as sensational. The menu is football themed - we'll save you on the names… Veganaldo, Messi Fries… you get the picture.

OK, so you're now done for food and beers… well almost. This is when you can head down to the OTSC - the Old Trafford Supporters Club. It’s a great final stop-off on route to the game, located just a couple of minutes from the ground.

So in short, if you're a United fan in town for a game, there’s really nowhere else to stay. We’ll be heading back as soon as we've worked off the ridiculous amount of good food and drink we consumed on the last visit.
