*All delivery aims are estimates provided by the shipping company and are usually accurate. Packet Tracked ships via the Deutsche Post mail centre in Germany; where all orders are processed before being handed over to local delivery couriers/postal partners of their final destination. All international shipments are subject to local customs checks. We are not able to put a time frame on how long a customs entity will hold onto an item for. During this time, they may contact the recipient to request further information from them or payment of any relevant inbound duties and taxes that are due on the shipment. They may not contact the recipient as they may just be investigating the nature of the shipment and input from the recipient may not be required.

 

Order Preparation and Dispatch Times
We aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days, this can be longer during busy periods such as sales.

Order Tracking
We will send you two emails relating to the status of your order. The first will confirm its creation and the second will notify you of its shipment. This second email will contain a tracking number and link for you to follow its journey.

 

VAT & Customs Duties
International orders including orders shipping into the EU may be subject to customs duty. These charges are collected by the destination country's local customs officials, and we cannot estimate their value, nor can we refund or reimburse such fees. If these charges are not paid and your package is returned to sender, Cult Kits Ltd. retains the right to collect any additional charges from your refund once it arrives at our office. 

We are registered with the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS); this means that VAT will be calculated and collected at checkout for all orders to the EU valued up to €150. If your order qualifies, you will see a tax breakdown below your order details at our checkout. If your order is below this threshold and you are requested to pay any fees when your order has arrived at customs, please contact us at info@cultkits.com as soon as possible so we can resolve this for you.

 

For orders to the EU over €150; VAT, import and duty fees may be applied by customs upon import.

Shipping De Minimis Value
A value below which goods can be shipped into a country before duties & taxes are assessed. Below are some trade agreements that are in place where the receiver will not be charged any import fees. Here is a brief overview of some of these locations and their rules:

 

USA:
For now, there are no taxes on any orders shipping into the USA below the value of $800. If you would like to order more than this, please contact us so we can make the necessary arrangements. Or simply make more than one order and we can combine your shipping fees.

EU: 
As mentioned above, we are registered with the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS); this means that VAT will be calculated and collected at checkout for all orders to the EU valued up to €150. This will be shown at checkout and displayed as "Tax". For orders to the EU over €150; VAT, import and duty fees may be applied upon import. No tax calculation will display for such orders.

 

Australia:
There are no taxes on orders valued below $1,000 AUD. 

 

China:
There are no taxes on orders valued below 50 CNY.

 

Hong Kong:
There are no taxes to pay as there is a free trade agreement between the UK and Hong Kong.

 

Singapore:
There are no taxes on orders valued below $400 SGD.

 

Saudi Arabia: 
5% VAT is charged on all imports regardless of value. However, there are no additional taxes on orders valued below 1,000 SAR.

 

South Korea: 
South Korea will not charge duty from our store. No taxes are applicable on orders upto 150,000 KRW.

 

UAE:
There are no taxes on orders valued below 1,000 AED.

Trinkets, postcards, or even sweets and snacks — the effort taken to claim customs duties on such items outweighs the tax revenue that can be extracted from it. As such, most countries set a threshold under which it does not claim duties.

The legal term for this threshold is called the De Minimis Threshold (DMT) — derived from the full expression “de minimis non curat lex”. This roughly translates as “the law does not concern itself about very small matters”.

In the US, for instance, the DMT is US$800 (€702.70). This means that goods valued at US$800 or less can enter the US without incurring taxes.

The popularity of online shopping coupled with international logistics services has enabled more businesses and consumers to leverage on the tax-free concessions for goods that are imported from overseas.

The DMT has long been a hotly debated political subject, particularly in matters of trade and protectionism. Many smaller businesses believe that having too high a DMT could hurt local businesses and affect jobs, while consumers believe that a low DMT unfairly penalizes them when they shop online.
