Collars are back and we are very much in support of that. You've probably seen the leaked pictures of United's and Arsenal's new jerseys, complete with fold-over collar, and now Adidas has given Real Madrid the same treatment.
Los Blancos' new home shirt is understated and elegant, and comes with the military-style font last seen back in the Zidane/Carlos/Raul Galactico era. Again, we like.
The shirt, when combined with the all white training wear, does carry a bit of a test match vibe but it works.
Anyway, back to the collar. It seemed like designers had permanently ditched the extra fabric as the move to performance kit took hold. But collars seem to be making a welcome return - certainly when it comes to Adidas - after years in the wilderness... and we're all the richer for it.
